One person was killed, and at least one other was injured in a Monday night shooting at the intersection of 23rd Avenue and East Cherry Street in the Central District.

The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. Officers on the scene arrived to find two victims on the ground with gunshot wounds. First aid was provided to one of the victims; the other was pronounced dead at the scene by Seattle Fire Department first responders.

A possible third victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center by a private vehicle “a short while later.” Police have yet to determine whether that victim’s injuries were suffered during this shooting, “or if there was another scene.”

Detectives are still working to determine the motive behind the incident, and are asking that anyone with information call the department’s tip line at (206) 233-5000.
