22 people arrested in Seattle demonstration

Seattle police said they made 22 arrests Monday night during a large demonstration near the police union building downtown. The arrests were for arson, assault, obstructing and failure to disperse, according to SPD.

Officers said people began throwing explosives, rocks and bear spray at them when they began making arrests on 4th Avenue South, and then again at 6th Avenue South and Royal Brougham. SPD says someone threw a Molotov cocktail that exploded in the road on 4th Avenue. There were no injuries reported.
Dispersal orders were made around 6:30 p.m.
Officers followed the group to Judkins Park where most of the group split up.

Another five people were arrested later Monday night at 14th Avenue South and Rainier Avenue South as officers were trying to impound a car.
