With rainy weather clearing much of the smoke from Western Washington, air quality saw sizable improvements overnight into Saturday.

As of early Saturday morning, the National Weather Service reported no smoke from its headquarters in SeaTac. From Bellingham down to the Washington-Oregon border, air quality finally resides firmly in the “good” category.

Thanks to those improvements, Seattle parks began reopening Friday morning. An air quality warning for Western Washington expired at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Weather on Saturday is expected to be mostly cloudy in the mid-60s, with showers beginning around 4 p.m. By Sunday, there will still be a few showers, but it will dry out a bit during the day with sunbreaks for the Seahawks game.
