Seattle’s I-5 express lanes are closed, after a collision sent a semi truck trailer off the side of the freeway. As of 5 p.m., the express lanes remain closed but all I-5 ramps to and from Mercer Street have reopened.
WSDOT expected lanes to remain closed “for an extended period” while crews worked to recover the trailer. The Mercer Street on-ramp to northbound I-5 and the southbound I-5 off-ramp to Mercer were closed but have since been reopened to traffic.
