Stabbing suspect in custody after barricading inside Seattle apartment, police say

A stabbing suspect is now in custody after she barricaded herself inside an apartment in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
Police said two people were stabbed around 11:30 a.m. inside an apartment building in the 2500 block of 4th Avenue, located about a half mile southeast of the Space Needle.
One of the victims had life-threatening injuries and the other victim is in serious condition.
Negotiators with the Seattle Police Department were working to make contact with the suspect, who was barricaded in an apartment.
The building had to be evacuated and nearby roads were closed.
Before 5:30 p.m., the suspect was safely taken into custody.
Investigators said she will be booked into the King County Jail on suspicion of assault.
