Harborview Medical Center reports COVID-19 outbreak

Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center is reporting a COVID-19 outbreak on Friday.
Ten staff members at the hospital are in isolation after testing positive for the virus. Four patients also contracted the virus.
“Tragically and incredibly sadly, one of those patients has since passed away at Harborview,” said Doctor John Lynch, Harborview’s infection control and prevention team.
Lynch added that the patient had underlying conditions.
The outbreak occurred in a surgical unit, which has since been cordoned off.
