Dear Diary –

Today marks 8 full months since I was in the office. I think it’s taking its toll.

We had a conference call last week, and I had the feeling people were judging my Zoom room. It may have been the teacup collection on the pool table, or the old Pinocchio marionette hanging from the ceiling … but it’s not right.

Then there are times when I just stare at the computer after work’s over. And I wonder – does EVERYONE gets those ads for the giant Dog Face T-shirts or am I the only one? What could I possibly have clicked on?

I’ll be going on vacation this week. Can’t travel of course. Instead, I plan to visit the kids’ old bedrooms. See if any of ’em snuck back home.

My isolation beard has now reached six inches. My co-workers say it’s great, but I think they’re secretly relieved we’re not in the studio together.

They can think what they like. Bottom line – you don’t need a bib. And you don’t need to order dessert.

Under “Things I have Learned”:

– Agree on the Scrabble rules ahead of time unless you want to sleep alone.

– It’s possible that no one noticed you wore the same shirt all week.

– A mask always remembers what you ate yesterday.

And finally – things to remember should you ever drive again: The wiper lever is on the left, the signal lever is on the right – that’s why people were honking yesterday.

Ross: Are we killing car culture? Or is car culture killing the US?

I don’t think the question is whether we're going to "kill" our car culture. The real question is can we stop our car culture from killing the U.S.?

Ross: As cars release driving data to insurance, is your driving my business?

Every move you make, every swerve you take, every lane change you fake – someone’s watching you. Do drivers have a right to keep driving data private?
