With Loren Culp’s campaign filing a lawsuit against Secretary of State Kim Wyman challenging the legitimacy of the 2020 election in Washington, state GOP Minority House Leader Rep. J.T. Wilcox voiced his support for Wyman Monday.

With WA election certified, Loren Culp continues to threaten legal action

The campaign’s lawyer, Stephen Pidgeon, filed the lawsuit in superior court last week, alleging that thousands of dead people, out-of-state residents, and non-U.S. citizens had their votes counted in Washington state.

Speaking to KTTH’s Jason Rantz last Friday, Pidgeon alleged that Wyman had run what he categorized as “a slipshod election.” Wyman has since denied any such accusations, calling on the Culp campaign to produce any evidence it might have that election fraud may have been committed.

Culp and his allies, though, have repeatedly stopped short of doing so. On Friday, Pidgeon again rebuffed calls to bring forth physical proof.

“I’m not going to do that right now,” he said. “All I can tell you is that we have several whistleblowers that are fearful for their lives. And we have other people who have been very reluctant to come forward with their name.”

In the near term, Pidgeon doesn’t expect to provide the public with sworn testimony or any other evidence until further on down the line, but did not specify when that might be.

Without that concrete proof, support among other elected Republicans in Washington has waned. That was seen firsthand on Monday, when Rep. Wilcox called for an end to “horrific” threats being made to election officials, and denounced continued challenges to Washington’s results.

“We have to stop this,” he Tweeted. “I support the work of Kim Wyman and her staff and believe in the results of the election in our state.”

Washington’s final vote tally saw incumbent Governor Jay Inslee best Culp by a 56.6% to 43.1% margin, with the two candidates separated by over 545,000 votes. Those results were officially certified by Wyman on Dec. 1, 2020.
