#14: Rantz: Seattle crime ‘free for all’ as cops can’t book most suspects over coronavirus

The Seattle Police Department alerted officers that the King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention will no longer allow bookings for most misdemeanor charges due to concerns over the coronavirus. One officer calls it the coronavirus crime “free for all.”

#16: Rantz: Inslee baffles literally everyone with Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone answer

Governor Jay Inslee is being widely mocked for saying he wasn’t aware of the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone in Seattle, his state’s largest city. This is the biggest story in the country, receiving national attention landing it on the Twitter trending list for over 24 hours.

#1 The morning after the world learned President Donald Trump contracted the coronavirus, a Seattle-area teacher went on a rant about the president to sixth graders. When a mom complained, he misled her about what happened. Luckily, the mom recorded the incident on her cell phone.

#7: Rantz: Gov. Inslee throws fit on TV in argument with himself on coronavirus

During an interview on Q13 FOX, Governor Jay Inslee threw a fit while arguing with himself about his coronavirus policies. Technically, reporter Brandi Kruse was interviewing him, but Inslee kept arguing a point he’s the only one making. It was a train-wreck.

Rantz: Seattle push to ban ‘mourning band’ day after looters murder St. Louis cop

The City of Seattle will advance a petty plan to prevent local cops from mourning the lives of fallen law enforcement officers after misguided outrage at protest activists and their nefarious enablers on the council. The move comes just a day after a retired officer was murdered in St Louis by looters.

Socialist councilmember Tammy Morales dangerously endorsed the riots and looting.

“But what I don’t want to hear is for our constituents to be told to be civil, not to be reactionary, to be told looting doesn’t solve anything,” Morales said. “It does make me wonder why looting bothers people so much more than knowing that across the country, black people are being killed around the country.”

2020 was an objectively crummy year. And I had the displeasure of covering some truly outrageous stories from Seattle and across Washington state.

There was a Tacoma teacher shaming a student for supporting President Donald Trump. There is plenty of video evidence. A Democrat lawmaker from Vancouver pretended men can get pregnant. In Seattle, activists repeatedly attacked police. There was a mob that tried to cement-shut a door to a police precinct while trying to burn it down. Then, of course, Asian Giant Murder Hornets from Blaine managed to scare us all.

This is a list of 20 most outrageous stories I covered from 2020.
