One man dead, another seriously injured in Seattle shooting

One person died and another was left fighting for his life Wednesday morning after a shooting in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood.
Officers are investigating what they are calling a “double shooting.”
Officers in 400 Blk 2nd Ave Ext. S. investigating double shooting. 1 person deceased, 1 w/ life-threatening injuries. Detectives enroute.

Police say several people called 911 around 5:30 a.m. to report hearing gunshots. Officers from the West Precinct responded and found two men lying on the ground.
“One of the victims was obviously deceased, and the other man had life-threatening injuries,” the department reports. The injured man was taken to Harborview Medical Center.
The shooting occurred in the 400 block of 2nd Avenue Ext S. The area was closed for several hours and reopened around 9 a.m.
