Washington D.C. is on near total lockdown as the military occupies our nation’s Capitol ahead of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.

This isn’t like the D.C. you visited as a teenager on a high school history trip. It’s eerie and ominous. The streets are deserted, except for law enforcement, the National Guard, and some media members. You need ID to get into the Red Zone. The Green Zone is under heightened security, but you can still walk or bike around. Cars are not allowed inside.
And as we get closer to Wednesday’s inauguration, security tightens.
Here are 63 photos from D.C. under lockdown. Join me each day this week for a live broadcast from Washington on KTTH.
