A student is alive but hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after he was found in the bottom of the Lake Stevens High School pool Friday morning.
Lake Stevens School District spokesperson Jayme Taylor says a pool manager spotted him in the bottom of the pool after doing a head count and noticing someone was missing.
The manager, a trained lifeguard, pulled the victim from the pool and performed CPR. He ultimately regained consciousness and was breathing on his own when medics arrived.
There’s no word how long he was underwater.
The victim was rushed to Providence Hospital in Everett with life-threatening injuries.
