After two citations and two warnings for COVID-19 violations, on April 13, the Liquor & Cannabis Board announced a $500 fine or five-day suspension of operations for An American Tavern, located in Tacoma.

The Liquor & Cannabis Board is currently investigating 17 complaints for the bar from last weekend alone.

These are not the bar’s first complaints for flouting the governor’s COVID-19 rules, and neighbors are concerned the customers are spreading the coronavirus.

In October 2020, KIRO 7 and The News Tribune reported on several more infractions that led to an inspection on Oct. 15, when an LCB officer noted there was no enforcement of social distancing.

The bar had previously been cited on Aug. 7 for customers playing pool, and Oct. 1 for serving alcohol after 10 p.m.
