Seahawks’ Russell Wilson announces his ‘big news’

May 18, 2016, 9:06 AM | Updated: 9:21 am

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has some big news. He is going back-to-back — as host of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice sports Awards.

The Seahawks quarterback made an enthusiastic announcement beside a healthy breakfast on Instagram Wednesday morning. Wilson hosted the award show in 2015. Among the highlights were Wilson being “slimed,” a tug-of-war between Marshawn Lynch and a handful of kids, and Wilson doing the ‘Whip’ and the ‘Nae Nae’ with then-girlfriend Ciara.

The show is described as the only one “that celebrates kids and families’ love of sports and top professional athletes.” The event will be taped live in Los Angeles on July 14 and will premiere July 17.

This gig is just a part of a large public off-season for the Super Bowl-winning QB, who announced his engagement to Ciara via social media in March and recently gave a commencement speech at his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin.
