Washington State Patrol arrested two people for throwing things off overpasses in Seattle.

A man riding a bike with a headlamp was arrested around 3 a.m. Sunday while throwing rocks over I-90.

“With the assistance of Seattle Police Department, that individual was taken into custody and also booked into King County Jail for felony,” said Trooper Rick Johnson.

State troopers arrested a second man throwing rocks onto I-5 near the Convention Center in Seattle early Monday morning.

There have been more than 60 reports of incidents happening along the same stretch of I-5 and I-90 in Seattle.

At least two people were injured on June 3 when someone threw rocks or other debris onto I-90. Mercer Island Fire Battalion Chief Stephen Mair says both incidents happened near the Mount Baker Tunnel and Rainier Avenue exits.

“The rock went through the windshield and hit her in the shoulder,” Mair said.

Hours later, a second car was hit by a rock or other debris that injured a passenger, who declined to be transferred to a hospital.

A Tacoma man told KIRO 7 he narrowly escaped when someone threw a sign onto I-5 in Seattle late Saturday night. The sign smashed his windshield.

Throwing objects at cars is a crime ranging from a misdemeanor offense to felony assault, if it results in severe injuries, Johnson said.

KIRO Radio Newsdesk contributed to this report.
