Numerous Seattle police officers have responded to a location in Puyallup after a Seattle officer shot a suspect Wednesday morning, the Seattle Police Department confirmed.

It happened in the 1000 block of 7th Avenue Southeast around 4 a.m.

The suspect who was shot has non-life-threatening injuries, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said.

The shooting came after the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Seattle branch of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Seattle Police Department announced there were arrests made in an investigation involving armed drug traffickers.

A briefing is slated in Seattle at noon.

The Seattle Police Department’s Force Investigation Team is at the scene.
