First simulated cruise ship voyage leaving Seattle tests COVID protocols
Monday marks the second Royal Caribbean cruise ship to restart revenue sailings from the United States since the COVID-19 pandemic slammed the industry.
Princess Cruises and Holland America will celebrate their own first sailings from the Port of Seattle for this year’s shortened Alaska cruise season on Friday, July 23. The two cruise lines will be hosting a special ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday to mark the return to cruising and to Alaska for both lines after nearly 16 months.
July 24 and 25 will then mark the resumption of the sailing in North America for Holland America and Princess Cruises, respectively.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that people who are not fully vaccinated avoid travel on cruise ships worldwide.
