There are about 10 movies that KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson cannot turn off if he sees them on TV. Kevin Bacon is in two of them: “A Few Good Men” and “Apollo 13.”
Bacon and his brother Michael joined Dori in the studio Tuesday hours before the Bacon Brothers concert at Triple Door Tuesday night.
Given the opportunity, Dori had to ask Kevin: Do the movie choices come natural and easy?
“No, the choices don’t come easy,” Kevin said. “You just try to take all of the elements of it, including the timing, the place, the role, the director, the cast, the size of the movie, whether or not there’s distribution. And then you just have to say ‘ah, I don’t know. Is it going to work?’ I don’t know.”

Kevin, who’s IMDB profile includes 81 film credits — and, of course, is approximately six degrees from every actor ever — says he works with a handful of people to pick his roles, including his wife, fellow actress Kyra Sedgwick.
“But even given all that, I often think to myself, I really should work on my picker because I’m not always right,” he said.
To which Dori noted that Kevin has made some pretty good choices.
“Well, yeah, I mean, there’s a lot of movies there,” Kevin responded. “So, at least three of them are pretty good I think.”
Listen to the rest of the interview, with Kevin talking about playing music from Footloose and going broke weeks after his role in Animal House.
