A threat against a fellow Sammamish school served as a wake-up call of sorts for Eastside Catholic School.
Sister Mary Tracy, the president and head of Eastside, said that while they didn’t experience a threat, they decided Friday would be the perfect day to conduct a safety assessment.
“So that should we ever receive some safety threat we will be completely prepared,” said Tracy.
After consulting with security professionals, the school decided it would be easiest to conduct the inspection of the 51-acre campus without students present.
Security and maintenance staff will spend the day examining the ground so that the campus has “100 percent readiness.”
A football game versus Bainbridge was rescheduled for Saturday as a result of the closure.
