When it first opened in 2020, the Seattle Kraken team store along Lake Union was the only place fans could buy merchandise in-person. Now, the store has closed its doors for good.

The Chandler’s Cove location first opened to the public by appointment only in August of 2020. Up until then, Seattle’s new NHL team had exclusively sold its debut run of t-shirts, hats, and more online. The Kraken even out-sold the Las Vegas Golden Knights’ own team branding reveal by over 50% in the 24 hours after Seattle unveiled its name in late July of that year.
The team did not cite an exact reason for closing the store, but in the year-plus since it debuted, three other in-person locations for Kraken gear have sprung up — one at the team’s Northgate practice facility, numerous stations inside Climate Pledge Arena, and one on the Eastside at Bellevue Square.
Kraken gear can also still be purchased online through the NHL’s fan shop.
