Aug 30, 2012, 7:47 AM | Updated: 10:15 am

Two men arrested in a police prostitution sting near Seattle’s Westlake Center have long arrest records. One is a convicted rapist.

The men were arrested after talking to female officers posing as 17-year-old girls.

Prosecutors say Bruce Brooks, 44, told one officer he would get her work in an escort service. Court documents claim that 41-year-old Michael Gaines told the undercover officers he wanted to get back in the business of a pimp.

Both men are charged with promoting commercial sexual abuse of a minor. Bail was set at $150,000 for Brooks. Gaines’ bail is $75,000.

The Seattle Times reports that Gaines has been jailed 35 times since 1988. Brooks has been locked up 13 times.

Brooks was convicted of kidnap and rape in 1992 for attacking a school custodian in Seattle and sentenced to prison for 19 years. He’s registered as a level three sex offender.
