Video: Police shoot dog attacking a little girl in Auburn

An Auburn girl is recovering after a vicious dog attack caught on video. According to Auburn Police, officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of C Street SE for a dog attack 11-year-old victim.
Officers arrived on the scene and found the girl with bites to her left arm from an attack by two pit bulls. Surveillance from the porch’s home shows the little girl trying to fight the dogs with a broom.
According to Kolby Crossley, Public Information Officer for the Auburn Police Department, the Officer’s body camera captured what happened next.
“After seeing the dogs, the Officer began to back away, drew out his gun, and the dogs continued to come after him, and when the dogs continued to come after him, he waited as long as he could, and then he fired multiple shots at the dog,” said
The dog was euthanized, while the other one was returned to the owner unharmed.
The child received stitches and is recovering.
An investigation is underway. The owner could face citations and fines.
