A 35-year-old man has been arrested and is in custody following the death of his 72-year-old father at their home in the 3200 block of 211th Street SE in Bothell.

The Bothell Police Department is investigating it as a homicide resulting from domestic violence and physical assault.

Bothell Police dispatchers received a call from a neighbor at 6:08 a.m. on Friday morning. Police and fire units responded to reports that a man was injured after his adult son physically assaulted him.

When first responders arrived, the 72-year-old man was not responsive or breathing. It was determined the victim was deceased prior to the officers’ arrival.

The suspect was immediately arrested, without incident, and taken into custody.

This is an ongoing homicide investigation and there is no further risk to the community, says the Bothell Police Department.
