KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — In a story published August 15, 2022, about the first anniversary of the Taliban takeover of Kabul, The Associated Press erroneously quoted the U.N. humanitarian chief for Afghanistan as saying that over 90 million people are “food insecure.” Ramiz Alakbarov said 19 million are “food insecure,” not 90.
