SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — In a story published Jan. 13, 2023, about California storms, The Associated Press erroneously reported the daily average amount of rainfall in recent storms. David Lawrence, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said the average rainfall statewide was more than 9 inches (23 centimeters) over 18 days, not 9 inches a day.
