WATCH: Uprooted tree falls on car traveling on I-5

A woman driving a Toyota Prius sustained head and neck injuries after a 200-foot cottonwood fell on her car while she was traveling southbound on I-5 through Fife Wednesday afternoon.

Around 3:30 p.m., the tree fell across the freeway near 70th Avenue East.

The incident caused miles of backup.

The woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a Nissan Altima was also struck by the tree.
