Winter weather is a blast for kids

A “blast” is either a sudden, violent weather event, or an enjoyable, exciting occasion. In Western Washington, it’s both. While adults are dealing with a blast of cold, icy, snowy weather, kids are having a blast playing in the snow.
Schools do not have to make up late starts, but they do have to make up missed school days because of snow.
More snow days are likely for area schools Wednesday morning. A “major snow event” is in the forecast. After snow showers throughout the next 24 hours, between 4 and 8 inches of snow is expected begining around 3AM Wednesday.
Kevin Sink, who lives in Belfair, sent me a picture of his kids enjoying the snow.
Actually, this little guy is not having a blast. See more MyNorthwest reader photos here.
