SEATTLE – Two men were shot in Gas Works Park shortly after midnight Friday.

Seattle police say there were two parties happening in the park at 1900 North Northlake Way when the shots were fired.

Witnesses said there were two groups having a get together when a fight broke out between the two groups.  The suspect then pulled out a gun and shot two people.  One victim was hit in the leg and the other was hit in the stomach and leg.

The victims are both in their early 20s.  Both were taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooter fled the scene and has not been found.

Police searched the park and spoke to witnesses.

The shooting comes as Seattle police are trying to crack down on the number of shootings in city limits.

Seattle police informed a City Council committee there had been more than 150 shots fired calls this year and 35 people have been shot.
