DORI MONSON

We are on a path to human extinction, says former Microsoft exec

Jamen Shively knows his claims are shocking and tough to accept but he has no doubt the world will face human extinction very soon.

Shively, a former Microsoft executive, is so confident that he spoke about doomsday ahead of the Seattle City Council’s vote last week on a resolution to make up for President Donald Trump’s lack of action on climate change.

“The reality is, that on the path we are on, we have a maximum of 10 years prior to human extinction,” Shively told council members.

Today Shivley is with Radish.org, a sort of think tank that tackles global problems.

On Thursday, Shively told KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson, who is also an extremely vocal skeptic, that the world is currently in a period of “abrupt climate change.”

“We are staring down the barrel of an ice-free Arctic this summer, for the first time in millions of years,” he said.

The quick change could have devastating consequences on our ability to feed ourselves and survive, Shively argues.

“Bottom line is we need to take bold, aggressive action if we are going to save ourselves as a species, as well as the majority of life that is slated for extinction along with humans,” Shively said.

Shively’s arguments don’t stop there as he tackled Dori’s questions. Listen to the full interview here.
