Paul Allen made a surprise appearance last weekend at the Paramount Pictures party at the Chateau Marmont and told an entertainment reporter his cancer is gone.
Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft and Seattle Seahawks owner, has suffered from non-Hodgkins lymphoma for the last several years. Reporter Roger Friedman with Showbiz 411 says Allen told him about a very positive doctor’s visit that he’s “basically cancer free.”
This confirms what we heard last fall – second hand through another reporter – that the 57-year-old Allen had a clean bill of health.
That’s not the case for Apple CEO Steve Jobs who this week announced he’s taking a medical leave of absense. Jobs, 55, recovered from pancreatic cancer after surgery in 2004, has not appeared at public events since October. He looked increasingly frail in recent weeks, according to people who have seen him.
