Wagers between governors and mayors over sports teams always seem a little immature to me, but I like the way the bet with New Orleans is turning out.
As if anyone in Seattle doesn’t know, the Seahawks beat the Saints 41-36.
New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu says he sent 10 pounds of shrimp, a gallon of oysters, a gallon of crawfish etouffee, a gallon of chicken and sausage gumbo and a fleur de lis king cake to McGinn. It was topped off with Mardi Gras beads, some music from Louisiana, and a few trinkets from the Saints Super Bowl victory last year.
Mayor McGinn says he’s going to donate the gifts, when they arrive tomorrow, to the Seattle Department of Transportation crews who’ve been working hard to patch potholes in the city.
