Microsoft’s huge new retail store in Bellevue Square – two stores down from the Apple store – opens November 18th, and company has come up with an unusual incentive to get people to check it out. The first 1,000 people in the store will receive two tickets to a special performance by Miley Cyrus.
Microsoft posted information about Miley’s concert on their Facebook page:
To celebrate, platinum selling artist Miley Cyrus will be performing live! Miley takes the stage on November 20th at 4:00 PM to help us celebrate our newest store opening. The first 1,000 people to visit the store on 11/18 will get two premiere tickets to the Saturday concert, we will the give away general admission tickets.
The concert will take place in the Safeway parking lot across from the entrance to the mall.
We expect lines to form well in advance for tickets on the 18th so plan to arrive early. To attend, you must come to the Microsoft Store opening 11/18. Doors opens at 10:00 AM for a wristband.
I’ve been trying to figure out how Microsoft and Miley mesh. Anyone who is a Miley fan is too young for most of Microsoft’s products. And it’s a little odd if older Microsoft customers are interested in the singer/actress who will turn 18 just a few days after her Bellevue performance.
Ahhhh, but Microsoft has figured out that Miley’s fans have moms and dads who are in their 30s or 40s. This is a way for Microsoft to appeal to kids and parents. They get kids interested Microsoft at an early age, and give parents a reason to go to the retail store on the first day. As Hannah Montana sings, it’s “the best of both worlds.”
