Nuclear Memories

I grew up about ten miles from the Indian Point Nuclear Plant in Westchester County. It’s on the Hudson about 35 miles from New York City. Mom keeps the evacuation plan near the telephone.
As kids, we were taken on a plant tour when it was opened, and given comic books similar to this (below).
I have no illusions that it would survive a 9.0 earthquake, but because earthquakes are so infrequent there (once every 3400 years) — and no one worries about earthquake-proofing — neither would anything else.
