First Look: Ending tax breaks, Amazon’s gift prevention patent, return of Death Panels, radioactive bunnies, and Santa photo

Welcome back from a long Christmas weekend–here’s what Dave and Luke are working on this morning:

Olympia looking at ending tax breaks to fix the budget hole. Rep. Larry Seaquist of Gig Harbor suggests putting this to a public vote, recommending more tax loopholes to close every two years.

Running to the mall to return unwanted Christmas presents? Amazon’s new patent would head off bad gift buyers before their packages are even sent.

Medicare will cover “voluntary advance care planning” as part of yearly wellness visits. Will this spark cries of “death panels” all over again?

Radioactive bunnies and atomic tumbleweeds becoming a problem at Hanford.

Finally…my family picture with Santa, circa 1988, rediscovered over the holiday weekend. At least my siblings seem to be having a good time.
