If you are planning a trip to the San Juans or Vancouver B.C., your trip might take longer than expected. Ferry routes are on a temporary four-boat schedule after the Samish went out-of-service yesterday.

An engine problem is to blame this time around for the MV Samish and the issue is causing lengthy delays to weekend adventurers. This isn’t the first time ferry riders have been left high and dry. Washington State Ferries have experienced several breakdowns on the packed summer route.
The temporary schedule will be in effect until repairs can be made.
Several travelers turned to Twitter to let Washington State Ferries know they weren’t happy with being stranded over the weekend.

The limited schedule won’t affect ferry routes further south, such as Seattle.
