Tall sizes return to Starbucks
Starbucks recently eliminated the “tall” drink size on its drive-thru boards in an attempt to simplify its menu options, reducing the number of items listed from 70 to 25.
People genuinely seemed confused and upset that they couldn’t order their tall non-fat quad shot (two shots decaf, two shots regular) latte no whip as they always had. Starbucks reassured jittery java lovers that they could still order tall drinks, even if that size wasn’t on the menu.
Today Starbucks sent out this tweet, letting their more than 1 million followers on Twitter that they’ll change the drive-thru menu again to people know the tall size will be making a comeback.
“Based on feedback we’re updating our new drive-thru menus to remind you that the Tall size is always available.” A Starbucks spokesperson confirms to me, starting Thursday, they’ll update the drive-thru menus.
Is this a big deal? Starbucks enthusiasts, you tell me. I’ve only had one cup of coffee in my life and that was one Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz served me when I interviewed him in his office about 15 years ago. I know, I should have said, “No thank you.” Instead, he asked me if I take anything in my coffee, and I calmly said, “Oh, black is fine.” Do you think he noticed my eyes tear up as I tried to pretend I was a savvy coffee drinker appreciating its bold flavor? That stuff is awful. I don’t get what people like about coffee. Diet Mt. Dew is my caffeine of choice.
