Murray, Cantwell approval ratings

Do you approve of the job Washington state’s U.S. senators are doing?
That’s the question in a new poll from SurveyUSA and our news partner KING 5 TV. It’s a bit of an odd question, I think. As they say, the only opinion poll that matters is on election day. August 17th is our state’s primary – one month from tomorrow. The last day to register to vote in the primary is Monday.
For what it’s worth, the survey shows that Maria Cantwell’s approval rating is higher than Patty Murray’s. Cantwell has a 50 percent approval rating, with about 43 percent of those surveyed unhappy with her performance. About 47 percent think Murray is doing a good job, while again 43 percent disapprove.
My Election Tuesday blog starts next week. Check here each Tuesday between now and the General Election, for coverage of candidates and issues. I’ll of course cover the biggies and if there’s a race in your community that you’re interested in, let me know.
