A Seattle man doesn’t know why someone keeps mailing him marijuana. But he wants it to stop.

The resident of the Mount Baker neighborhood notified police Monday evening someone keeps mailing him packages of marijuana.

Seattle Police say the man reported someone sent him a package last month marked “return to sender, insufficient postage.” The man’s home was listed as the return address, and when he opened it he found it packed with pot and threw the box away.

The man got a second similar package Monday afternoon and took it to the East Precinct.

The package – which was addressed to a business in Georgia – contained approximately half an ounce of plastic-wrapped marijuana. Officers sent the package to the Evidence Unit for destruction.

Police say they want to remind people while adult possession of small quantities of pot is legal in Washington, sending it through the federally-run mail system is still against the law.
