The body of missing 6-year-old Dayvid Pakko was found in a dumpster at the apartment complex in Lynnwood where he lived, according to law enforcement.
There is evidence of homicide, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
A 19-year-old male has been arrested and booked into Snohomish County Jail on a charge of 1st degree murder in relation to the incident. His name has not yet been released by authorities. The suspect was visiting his family in Lynnwood from Kerville, Texas, according to Snohomish County officials.
“The suspect is a relative of the victim,” sheriff spokesperson Shari Ireton said. “Detectives are processing the crime scene and are expected to be working for several hours.”
The boy was reported missing around 5 p.m. Monday.
According to the sheriff’s office and relatives, Dayvid stayed home sick from school Monday. He was last seen at about 2:30 p.m. on Monday, KIRO 7 reports.
The sheriff’s office said Dayvid was under the supervision of the 19-year-old man at his apartment on Monday. That man allegedly admitted to Snohomish County detectives that he intentionally drowned the child in a bathtub. He also allegedly admitted to wrapping the 6-year-old’s body in a blanket, then placing him in a cardboard box, which he put into the dumpster where he was found.
