Lyfties, Lyft...

Originally published Dec. 11, 2017: Rideshare company Lyft has announced the most traveled to destinations in 2017 — the list is called The Lyfties.

The most traveled to destinations in Seattle for 2017 are:

  • Most visited event space: Safeco Field
  • Most visited restaurant: Art Marble 21
  • Most visited bar: Fremont Brewing
  • Most visited University: University of Washington

Lyft notes that one common location that riders keep visiting — that is only in Seattle — is Pike Place Market. Another “trending location” is Nordstrom.

“Lyft has helped us grow by making it easy to enjoy our tasting room and get home safely,” said Sara Nelson, Fremont Brewing Co-Founder/Owner.

Rideshares can be quite convenient, taking into account the hassle of parking and traffic in the Emerald City. In fact, the form of transportation is projected to replace private car ownership — and the need for most parking — because the option is far cheaper than owning a car. Some experts predict they will take over the bulk of travel by 2030, others say it will happen by 2037. The Washington State Transportation Commission is already considering options to transform I-5 into a driverless-only freeway.

2015 and 2016 Lyfties

The 2017 Lyfties list is quite different from the past two years the company has released the list. The only common location is Seattle’s stadium district. Safeco Field was the most visited venue in 2016, and CenturyLink Field was most popular in 2015.

Lyfties 2016:

  • Most visited restaurant: Dick’s Drive-In
  • Most visited transit stop: King Street Station
  • Most visited bar: Unicorn
  • Most visited event venue: Safeco Field
  • Most visited site unique to Seattle: The Space Needle
  • Most trending destination: Uncle Ike’s

Lyfties 2015:

  • Most visited restaurant: Peso’s Kitchen & Lounge
  • Most visited transit stop: Seattle Ferry Terminal
  • Most visited bar: Rhein Haus
  • Most visited event venue: CenturyLink Field
  • Most visited site unique to Seattle: Pike Place
  • Most trending destination: Starbuck’s
