We’ve got plenty of problems in the city of Seattle. Apparently one of the biggest problems is some people feel excluded when they see a single stall bathroom and it says “men” or “women.” Now, the Seattle City Council has decided that all of them will be unisex from here on out because we know that’s the biggest problem facing the city.
Ladies are going to find out that gender identity is something to fear when they realize that men are not nearly as clean as women when they use toilets. So again, it’s just going to be bad news all the way around.
Ask yourself this: you might prefer a gender-neutral bathroom, but now we’re saying it’s so vital we should create a law? We need to use the force of government to make sure all single-stall bathrooms are labeled unisex? That strikes me as absurd.
I drive into town and I see drug-addled young people occupying public spaces and trash everywhere, but the city of Seattle focuses on that and cracking down on hookah lounges.
Nick Licata pointed out, that shouldn’t we have some evidence that ties hookah lounges to the actual violence?
Seattle-King County NAACP President Gerald Hankerson challenged the whole idea.
“We’re trying to blame all of this on violence and I’ve yet to see one single strand of evidence that identifies the hookah lounges as responsible for violence,” Hankerson said. “We have a whole lot of evidence that alcohol is a common cause of drunk driving, but you’re not moving to get alcohol out of your city.”
This obsession with hookah lounges, where did that come from? And how many people do you see storming out of hookah lounges ready to do battle?
