The Washington State Department of Transportation finally told drivers what they think of them. At approximately 1:37 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, about one mile before Exit 154B on southbound I-5, an electronic sign displayed a simple message: “U SUCK.”

The incident, first reported by Q13, was spotted by driver Ruslan Kozlov and posted on reddit.

Though I believe it accurately reflects the way WSDOT feels about drivers, who they routinely punish in their efforts to us off the road, they’ve explained it happened “due to a training error.” What training results in a sign saying “U SUCK” exactly?

WSDOT is now offering an apology:

“This was an inappropriate message and we apologize if anyone was offended. This was due to a training error and clearly a mistake. We are taking steps to ensure this doesn’t happen again.”

There was nothing inappropriate about the message: they think we suck. They shouldn’t apologize for being honest about their feelings towards us, should they?
