Dori to King County liberals: Do you shed tears over Democrats, or just Republicans?

There are a lot of things you can say about me, but misogynist is a pretty tough one to stick.

A female-led political group in the 8th Congressional District is calling me a misogynist on Twitter after I made a comment about their leader on the air for telling the Seattle Times that she cried herself to sleep every night after Trump was elected.
Do you have some stereotype of everyone who differs from you politically? I have three strong daughters in their 20s. I coached a generation of young women who are now doing phenomenal things in their lives. I’ve been active in the lives of a lot of young women in our community and certainly in my family.
I didn’t like Obama’s presidency, but I would never cry about it. I cry over everything, but I would never cry over anything political because there’s no point in it. I will get ticked off when I hear about Trump grabbing a woman’s genitals and I will declare on the air that day that I won’t vote for him. It’s not about the party for me — it’s about the behavior.
I don’t care if someone is D or R or whatever their political persuasion is. Right is right and wrong is wrong. But for so many people around here, it seems like left is right and right is wrong.
If you want to think that I’m some caricature and stereotype because I’m not a Puget Sound liberal, you can think that. But I’d like to have a holistic conversation. You can’t do that on Twitter. But you refuse to come on my show.
These are the questions I want to ask the 8th District group members:
- Do people like that cry over the fact that the mayor of Seattle was likely a child rapist? Do you cry over the little girls who are getting raped in homeless encampments that have sprouted because of political policies around here? Where are the tears for Delvonn Heckard, who had a life of addiction after being allegedly raped by Ed Murray as a minor?
- Nobody has recalled Sally Bagshaw for trying to keep an accused child rapist in office. Nobody is putting pressure on Jenny Durkan, who has several six-figure salaried people who worked for Ed Murray, worked to cover up and continually victimize his alleged victims. The voters in this region tolerate the remnants of a child rapist for political reasons.
I’m not just talking about this one person on Twitter. I’m talking about the people of this region who are okay with the current political structure. People don’t care about child rape if it’s a Democrat doing the (alleged) raping.
There is no reasonable, rational response to it. People will cry themselves to sleep over a presidential election and ignore what is happening in drug encampments all over the Seattle and Puget Sound area.
Explain to me how you cry yourself to sleep over Trump every night, but your eyes remain dry over what has happened in our region.
