A six-week campaign sponsored by the Poor People’s Campaign begins in state capitals across the country, including Olympia, on Monday, May 14.
Bianca Davis-Lovelace tells Seattle’s Morning News they are calling for a “moral revival” during their six weeks of non-violent action.
Davis-Lovelace says the campaign is a re-launch of the original that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. started. She hopes to get more millennials involved. The campaign will highlight social issues including poverty, racism, homelessness, ecological devastation, and more.
People in more than 30 states plan to participate.
The event in Olympia begins at 2 p.m. on the north steps of the Legislative Building.
