More DNA sought from remains of possible massacre victims

FILE - In this aerial photo, a mass grave is re-filled with dirt after a small ceremony at Oaklawn Cemetery, Friday, July 30, 2021, in Tulsa, Okla. The mass grave was discovered while searching for victims of the Tulsa Race Massacre. Scientists are planning to extract more DNA from the remains of possible Tulsa Race Massacre victims and to test two more areas as potential sites to search for more remains. The committee overseeing the project was told Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022, that remains found last year and temporarily reburied in Oaklawn Cemetery will be exhumed for additional DNA samples in an effort to identify them, then reburied in the same location.
