Carl Greninger’s Northwest Nuclear Consortium brings together high schools from around the Puget Sound in the name of science. Founded over six years ago, this extreme science club teaches students about a variety of topics from small chemistry and biochemistry projects to nuclear research. The tools in Carl’s program are used in original research that leads the students to science fair appearances, scholarships and lucrative internships around the country. Carl inspires these amazing high school students to pursue education in stem fields and to do their best to make a difference in their communities.

KIRO Radio and your community credit union, WSECU, are proud to honor Carl Greninger as a hometown hero and award him with $2,000 as our way of saying thanks. If you know of a Hometown Hero, an exceptional person who makes your community a better place to live, nominate that person at MyNorthwest.com/hero.
