Actor chokes up realizing ugly women are people too

I don’t know why this year-old video was linked to a story I clicked on this morning, but I gave in to the tease “what made Dusin Hoffman cry” and gave it a viewing. Fortunately, I hadn’t had breakfast yet.

Hoffman tells of how he wanted to look “beautiful” as the character “Tootsie” and when he realized that there was no getting that character prettier, it dawned on him that sexually unattractive people need love to.

Let’s face it, when it comes to looks Dustin Hoffman is a major over-achiever. So while I know I should just be pleased he’s come to appreciate the challenges of not being born beautiful, instead I found myself laughing that he’d never thought of it before or that he wants us to BELIEVE he’s never thought of it before:
