Oregon shooter’s father should ask more questions

Oregon shooter’s father says “guns are killers. It’s black and white.” Nonsense. Guns are tools and people use them according to their will.
He says he wants to know “how his son could have amassed guns.” Me too, but I’d follow that up with additional questions.
I’d like to know how a father doesn’t know his son has become (or always was) murderous. I’d like to know how a father could avoid seeing his son for four years when he’s within driving distance.
I’d like to know how a father expects a background check to pick up the disturbed nature of his son if his own family doesn’t (or does, but hides it). I’d like to know how a boy described by his mother as having mental issues doesn’t have a record of it that would appear on a background check. And since the mom sounds possibly disturbed herself, I’d like to know how a father could not check on his son or live with his son.
I’d like to know if, when he was discharged from the military, the military saw mental problems and if so, whether any recommendations were made. I’m sure I’ll have more questions when we talk about it on Monday. 6-9am on AM 770 KTTH.
