In a fit of road rage, driver runs over man and leaves license plate at the scene

The Seattle Police have a very special message for the suspect involved in a violent road rage incident Wednesday morning.

Detectives have your license plate. You left it at the scene of the crime. They know the address where your car is registered. Do the right thing and call 911 to make arrangements to turn yourself in.

The incident started on southbound I-5 around 6:30 a.m. when one driver cut another off. It ended when both pulled over after taking the Mercer exit.

“We all know that commuting to and from Seattle can be a pain sometimes,” said Seattle Police Detective Renee Witt. “But you just have to be patient and not be lured into some sort of stand off with someone.”

This, however, didn’t end with a stand off.

One man got out of his car to confront the other and he was run over by the other driver.

The 52-year-old victim was taken to Harborview with a broken leg.

There’s no description of the suspect. The victim said that there were no words exchanged between them and he didn’t see the driver of the vehicle.

Then again, he left his license plate at the scene.

“During the ramming of the car, the suspect’s front license place fell off,” said Witt. The driver took off leaving exactly how to find him behind.
