The manhunt continues for a convicted felon who escaped a police chase through Southwest Seattle.

King County Detectives tried stopping a car driven by Emanuel Kozma in White Center, believing he was armed with a gun. But the car took off and detectives lost sight of it, according to King County Sheriff’s Sgt. Cindi West.

Someone in the car tossed a handgun out of the window as it sped away. Soon after, the car crashed and rolled over at the intersection of 17th and Trenton in the Highland Park neighborhood.

Kozma fled on foot and eluded capture. West says they were able to recover the weapon thrown from the vehicle, but he may have other weapons.

“We do consider him armed at this point.”

A 22-year-old woman in the car was taken to Highline Hospital with minor injuries.

Kozma is 24-years-old and approximately 5-foot-7 with a goatee.

The King County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging anyone who sees him to notify authorities.

“If anybody sees him, knows where he’s at, pick up the phone, call 911, let us know. Don’t approach him. Don’t talk to him, just call us,” says West.
